Located in Springfield, Elks 51 Golf Club (formerly known as Northwood Hills Country Club) is an 18-hole golf course that has been around since 1958. The course has a traditional design that measures in at just over 6,500 yards. It is a straightforward layout that is sprinkled with stands of mature trees, which are most heavily concentrated along the fairways. The golf course requires a fair amount of accuracy but there is some room for error. Overall, it is a player-friendly layout that is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are a few challenges in store. Water hazards come into play on some holes and there is the occasional bunker. On the 18th hole, golfers will come across the club's signature willow tree. In addition to the course, Elks 51 Golf Club also offers a driving range and putting green.
