Nestled between the Nichupte Lagoon and the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea, lies Cancun's oldest, most prestigious golf club. Designed in 1975 by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the Cancun Golf Club at Pok-Ta-Pok artistically incorporates hundreds of meters of dramatic shoreline and ancient Mayan ruins into a truly enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities.

The Cancun Golf Club at Pok-Ta-Pok, located in the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone and only 20 minutes from Cancun's International Airport, is convenient to all the major hotels in this world - class destination. Facilities include an 18 hole championship golf course, driving range, 2 practice putting greens, 3 tennis courts, a well-stocked pro shop which offers excellent rental equipment for those who left their clubs or shoes at home, and a restaurant/bar with panoramic views of the Nichupté Lagoon and the Hotel Zone. The Club, which hosts a variety of tournaments throughout the year, is open 365 days a year from dawn until dusk with breakfast, lunch and dinner served daily.

Horrible conditions! I drove by this course on our way to Puerto Cancun Golf, which is a few minutes drive further from the Hotel Zone. I will highly advise against going to this golf course. Even from the Kukulcan Blvd in a taxi, you can see that this course is in bad shape, bunkers are old, fairways are dried out, and the lay out is pretty basic.

There were no players on the course even though it takes up both sides of the main street in Cancun. If you're in Cancun's hotel zone, visit Riviera Cancun, Puerto Cancun, and Iberostar Cancun.

Can you explain why you didn't like the course, other than the # of stars you gave? I'm going to Cancun next month and doing some research. Thanks!
