golf course is tucked away in the woods making it a nice course to walk. My girlfriend and I walked the course and found it to be a fun little round. # 3 is a tough hole and i found #8 to be a challenge as well. We were the only ones on the course so pace of play not an issue. Overall enjoyed the day and will return when in that area again

Since Rowley CC was sold almost 10 years ago, it has been rumored to be closing several times in favor of a housing development. Now it appears it is staying as a small condo development goes up on its west side. The condos did commandeer half of the parking lot, the driving range, the old 7th green and the old 8th tee. Those 2 holes play shorter now, but the rest of the actual course remains intact. It is a solid layout that has been downgraded due to years of absolute minimal maintenance. Crabgrass and weeds have crept in, paths have crumbled and sand traps are mostly sandless. It caters to locals who are fine with the course as is. They appreciate the challenge the first 3 holes offer and the opportunities the next 3 allow. The finishing holes are now much easier with the decreased yardage, but are still fun to play. Rowley offers a good walking golf experience, but just know at dawn and dusk that you are in the bug belt and a can of Off! is absolutely required. Rowley can be a nice local spot to grab a quick nine and work on your game. Now that the range is gone, the kids camps are less of an issue. You will see an eclectic mix of young and old, male and female on this quaint layout. If you give Rowley a shot, just do not expect to be out there all alone.
